New Nexus 6P device, unveiled in San Francisco today (September 29) first smartphone to use Google’s latest operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Huawei and Google have this evening unveiled the latest addition to the Nexus smartphone range, with the new 6P.
The device, hailed by Huawei as its “most premium” device yet, was launched during a joint event in San Francisco and will be available to buy in the coming weeks.
Pre order in the UK via the Google Store have already be opened, whilst O2 and EE have confirmed they will be stocking the device when it becomes available. EE pre-orders start from October 9.
Huawei said the device will eventually be sold in more than 30 countries, although no exact release date has been given.
The Nexus 6P will be available in three different memory and colour variants; £449 for 32GB model, £499 (64GB) and £579 (128GB). Colour variants include silver, black and white.

VP Android, Chromecast and Chrome OS at Google Hiroshi Lockheimer added: “We’re excited to partner with Huawei to introduce customers to Nexus 6P, our most premium phone yet and Android 6.0, Marshmallow, our most polished and highest-performing OS ever.”

The handset is the first to include Google’s latest Android update, 6.0 Marshmallow, providing what Google claims to be the “ultimate Android experience.”
Other features include a 5.7 inch WQHD 518ppi AMOLED display, “perfect for playing games and movies”, front-facing stereo speakers, the latest version of the octa-core Qualcomm® Snapdragonâ„¢ 810 v2.1 processor under, 3450mAh battery including a Type-C fast charger providing seven hours of battery from a 10 minute charger.
As with the Huawei Mate S, unveiled this month at IFA, the 6P also has a fingerprint sensor on the rear providing a number of security based services, such as unlocking and processing online purchases using Android Pay.
It also features a 12 megapixel rear camera (eight megapixel front facing) and is capable of recording 4K and high-frame-rate slow-motion videos.
