Exertis, Onecom and Next Communications were amongst the companies who confirmed stock Samsung’s flagship

The indirect channel was celebrating last week after receiving stock of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge handsets at launch.

It calmed fears of a repeat of last year’s scenario, which left B2B resellers and distributors “angry and frustrated” after learning the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge would not be available to them until at least six weeks after launch.

Exertis confirmed to Mobile News it had stock available for resellers, albeit limited, and that both handsets are available to buy.

Major B2B dealers Onecom, Voice Mobile and Next Communications all said they had received stock of the handsets from launch, adding they were pleased with the supply process.

Sprint Communication Systems director Paul Leonard said supply had been limited, but that was to be expected due to the high anticipation the releases have generated.

“We haven’t received the quantities required, but these devices have been a victim of their own success, which has been huge,” said Leonard.

“It’s only to be expected that stock isn’t going to be completely free-flowing.”

However, a distribution source close to Samsung claimed there have still been a number of supply issues with the smartphones, although these are likely to be resolved by the end of this month.

“Supply to distribution has been weaker than hoped. Samsung has had stock but we have been left slightly behind again, although we have been assured we will begin receiving stock imminently.”
