His departure comes just days after senior vice president Roy Taylor announced his departure from the distributor

Data Select director of marketing Jason Kemp has left the business by mutual consent after eight-and-a-half years with the distributor.

It comes just days after senior vice president Roy Taylor announced his departure from the Marlow-based Data Select after nine years. He is leaving to care for his wife who is suffering from an aggressive form of cancer.

No decision on whether to appoint a successor to Kemp has been made and his responsibilities will be absorbed by marketing manager, Tina Jones, purchasing director, Steve Hankey and sales director, Ian Miller.

During his time at Data Select, Kemp (pictured) was part of the management team that launched partner group, the Platinum Club, JCB Toughphone and the recently launched trade-in and buyback service.

Kemp told Mobile News that Taylor’s decision had made him look at his own personal circumstances which had seen him based away from his Staffordshire home for most of the last decade.

He will take the summer off before deciding the next step in his career.

Kemp said: “It’s time to reevaluate my priorities and living away from home four nights a week for eight years has taken its toll. It’s time to go home.”

Richard Daly, CEO of Data Select parent company Brandpath added:

“Jason has been a great asset to Data Select over the years and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Prior to Data Select, Kemp held a number of other telecoms roles including executive marketing manager at Caudwell Communications and marketing manager of 20:20 Logistics.
