Vodafone platinum partner planning a further office opening later this year and will also look to increase staff numbers by 25 per cent

Pescado has opened a third office in Castle Donington and has plans to open another in the south of England later in the year.

As part of its expansion, the Chester-based dealer is looking to employ up to 10 new members of sales staff – taking numbers above 40 – across its range of services which, in addition to its mobile offering, includes hosted telephony, IT and cloud services.

The increased office capacity and greater staff numbers are part of a drive to cross-sell more services into its existing customer base as well as recruit even more new customers. The firm reported sales in its mobile division were up 25 per cent in January compared to 2012.

Currently around one in three of its customers takes more than one service from the firm, a statistic MD Fraser Watson expects to improve on in the coming months.

Watson (pictured) said: “Our customers are much more likely to stay for life if they have two or three services with us, and it makes us much less vulnerable to factors out of our control.

“We have excellent relationships with the networks and handset suppliers but we have to continue to be stable and minimise the effect of any changes they may make. Small changes from large suppliers can have much bigger effects on smaller businesses like us which in turn can affect the customer, so we have to continue to be self-sufficient.”

Pescado was promoted to Vodafone Platinum Partner status in July after winning the operator’s Gold Partner of the Year award in the network’s annual dealer awards for 2012.
