New recruits at 24 Seven Communications

MVNO 24 Seven Communications has made two new senior appointments as part of a wider recruitment drive that could see staff numbers double ahead of a consumer launch this year.

Former Vodafone account coordinator Piers Brown has joined as business development manager and is tasked with building relationships with UK business customers.

He is joined by support engineer Marcus Child, who spent more than eight years in the technical support team at telecoms provider 186k. He will work with the technology team to ensure 24 Seven’s growing customer base does not impact its level of service.

24 Seven launched its national roaming “Jump” B2B SIM in April. The SIM can connect to O2, EE and Vodafone depending which operator has the strongest signal, eliminating so-called ‘notspots’ – areas with no coverage.

The publicity generated by the Jump launch and signing up of 12 resellers in the following months means 24 Seven needs to double its 18-strong staff portfolio over the coming months, according to director of new business sales Marshall Frieze.

“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback about Jump since it was launched and the inbound enquiries we are getting are coming in at a rate we didn’t envisage.

“That’s made us think we need more people out there, on the road, able to help deal with the new opportunities the exposure brings.

“It is part of a wider recruitment drive across the whole of 24 Seven, including Jump and our fixed line products. We have just joined Vodafone Direct Partner services giving us additional products, and we need additional staff to deal with that.”

“I can envisage many more new appointments in the coming months and years, as Jump takes off and our busi- ness reaps the benefits. We are already looking at a consumer offering but it is still in the early stages of development.
