TalkTalk demerger set for March

Carphone Warehouse will confirm in a trading statement next week the demerger of its TalkTalk fixed line unit from its retail business will take place in March.

Chief executive Charles Dunstone is expected to also confirm the appointment of former Orange Uk chief executive John Allwood as a non-executive director.

Allwood will also announce Allwood will join former J. Sainsbury executive Dido Harding, who will head the company when it separates.

Carphone was unavailable for comment.
