Orange sells 30,000 iPhones

Orange has revealed that it has sold more than 30,000 iPhones across the UK in its first day of sales. The network claims it has “smashed” previously published first day sales records for a handset in the UK.

Meanwhile, the  network’s first Orange Wednesdays iPhone App, released last week, has hit the number one place in the Apple App Store’s entertainment category, and reached second place in the free apps chart.

Orange’s latest £4 million advertising campaign, featuring the tagline “You’re covered”, also includes the iPhone from today.
