O2 is restructuring its prepay tariffs to match the value of its SIM-only deals as part of a “major” shake up.
From June 4, O2’s prepay customers can pay a monthly fee from their top-up to receive unlimited texts, inclusive minutes and unlimited data without committing to a contract.
The deals are designed to reflect those on its SIM-only Simplicity tariffs which require a credit check and are paid for by direct debit.
All plans include unlimited texts starting from £5 per month for the basic package, which does not include minutes or data. Inclusive data can not be used with a BlackBerry.
For £10 per month customers can receive 100 inclusive minutes or unlimited data, or for £15 per month either 300 inclusive minutes or unlimited data.
Customers paying £20 per month will receive 300 inclusive minutes and unlimited data.
Customers can opt-in and out of the service at any time and can change their package monthly.
O2 head of prepay Michael Williamson said: “We know how much our Pay & Go customers value the control and flexibility of paying for their mobile in a way that suits them.
“We also know they want the better value deals you get from committing to a long contract. Only on O2 are we offering both.”
