HTC sues Apple in patent infringement dispute

Taiwanese handset manufacturer attempting to prevent US imports of Apple products in latest scrap between the two companies 

HTC has filed a lawsuit in the US against Apple, accusing its rival of infringing its patents, and is trying to prevent US imports of iPhones, iPads, iPods and Mac computers.

HTC has also vowed to appeal against a ruling that found it has infringed two iPhone patents in a case brought by Apple at the US International Trade Commission in July.

The ruling is thought to threaten HTC’s business model of designing products around the Android operating system.

Its the latest spat between handset manufacturers with Motorola, Nokia, HTC, Apple, Google and Samsung all involved in one or more patent disputes.
