Smartphone will be identical to manufacturer’s flagship device from earlier this year but will not run the Android operating systemÂ
HTC has unveiled a version of its One (M8) smartphone that runs the Windows Phone operating system.
The device is identical in design from the manufacturer’s flagship release in March, which was powered by the Android platform.
Handset specifications are also be identical, as it runs the same quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.
The One (M8) with Windows Phone also have a five-inch HD touchscreen, four ‘ultrapixel’ rear camera, five megapixel front camera, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded by 128GB with a microSD card.
HTC’s ‘BoomSound’ speakers, which the firm claims delivers the loudest, clearest audio on a smartphone to date, again appear at the top and bottom of the phone.
The HTC One (M8) for Windows has today gone on sale through Verizon’s website for $99 with a two year contract. It will be available in the US operator’s stores tomorrow. UK availability has yet to be announced.
