Get Connected hits 50 stores

Welsh independent retailer Get Connected will open its 50th store in Worcester on Saturday (February 28).

It becomes the company’s third store opening of the year. The retailer opened stores in Cwmbran and Maesteg in South Wales last month.

Get Connected managing director Damian Cole (pictured) said: “I’m pleased that we’ve reached this milestone. Growing organically using cashflow takes longer than if we had borrowed heavily from the bank.

“We are now reaping the benefits of this strategy, continuing to expand where others are closing stores. We are on target to have 70 stores by the end of the year.”

Last month Cole told Mobile News that he hoped Get Connected would be the biggest independent retailer in the UK by the end of the year, surpassing JAG.
