Data Select set to lose JCB exclusive?

Distributor denies deal is about to end as sources claim JCB is looking to change its strategy

Data Select is expected to lose its exclusive distribution deal for JCB handsets.

According to sources in the channel, JCB is looking to change its strategy, which could see it add other distributors or switch the rights to a distribution rival.

Data Select was awarded global distribution rights for JCB’s range of rugged handsets and accessories back in 2010.

Seven handsets have been launched to date and partnerships have been established with suppliers including Carphone Warehouse and Amazon.

Data Select marketing director Jason Kemp denied  the  story was true, insisting the relationship between the two firms remains close.
