Carphone gets 8 megapixel Samsung

Carphone Warehouse has secured exclusive rights to sell the eight megapixel Samsung i8510 for a month after its September launch.

The i8510 is the first eight megapixel cameraphone to be launched in the UK.

"This certainly marks a new era in mobile phone technology and we’re excited to be launching the Samsung i8510 in partnership with The Carphone Warehouse," said Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland vice president Mark Mitchinson.

"To be the first company to launch an eight megapixel multimedia device in the UK is a proud moment for everyone involved and demonstrates beyond any doubt that Samsung is very much on the ascendancy."

The exact release date and pricing information will be released later this month.
