IoT provider’s partnership with Volvo key to win
IoT solutions provider Trinsic has been named Vodafone Business’ inaugural IoT Partner of the Year.
The Vodafone Total Communications Partner won the award for its moves into the IoT sector, principally its partnership with car manufacturer Volvo.
Trinsic’s partnership with Volvo saw it provide all new Volvo cars made this year and sold in the UK with a Vodafone SIM which provided internet access to up to eight devices, as well as apps built into the car’s touchscreen including Spotify, Google, Yelp and Weather.
Volvo UK commissioned Trinsic to create a new platform with support from Vodafone, to supply prepaid SIM cards with 100GB of data, including a customer portal, top-up tariffs, payment facilities and customer support services.
The project was in development for over two years with over half a million connected cars analysed to provide suitable data packages.
“Our success is built on being technology partners to our clients to co-create new and disruptive technologies and solutions,” said Trinsic CEO Darren Webb.
“To do this, we need world-class enterprise connectivity partners, and Vodafone is precisely that. We know that whatever the commercial solution we conceive for a client, Vodafone has the expertise and reach to deliver it with us.”
Vodafone’s head of indirect business Kathy Quashie added: “Vodafone wants to celebrate partners who are co-creating with us. There is so much in our product portfolio that is available for our partners to work with to deliver excellence in the market, and Trinsic is doing just that.
“Darren Webb and his team are smashing it in IoT and have shown that, no matter how large a deal, working in partnership with us they can go out and close it.”
