The vendor says the investment will provide 100 new jobs
Huawei has committed to a £10 million UK high-street investment despite last week’s decision to ban the vendor from the UK’s 5G networks from 2027.
As part of the investment Huawei has announced it will be opening three Huawei experience and service centres.
There will be two state-of-the-art centres in London, with the Wembley centre already open, and a new site in Stratford opening from October.
Huawei is also opening a store in Manchester from next February. The three stores are expected to deliver more than 100 new jobs.
Confidence
Huawei UK consumer business group MD Anson Zhang said the decision to invest in the UK has been based off strong growth in recent years.
“The opening of our new Huawei Experience Stores and Service Centres follows the strong growth of our UK consumer business in recent years, and shows the confidence we have in our future here.”
The stores will offer customers the opportunity to try out Huawei products, including smartphones, tablets, headphones, smartwatches and more.
Huawei has also opened similar stores in Madrid, Barcelona and Paris in the last year.
