BlackBerry turnaround ‘ahead of schedule’

Chief executive officer John Chen tells press conference at Mobile World Congress that company is back on track

BlackBerry is ahead of schedule in its turnaround plan, chief executive officer John Chen told a media gathering at Mobile World Congress this morning.

“A lot of progress made in our technology roadmap and also financial,” he said. “We’re going to start generating cash again.” 

Chen also said that BlackBerry was going to make a business out of its software solutions, as the company laid out its technology roadmap.

BlackBerry has announced the new BlackBerry Experience suite which will offer a range of communication, productivity and security software solutions.

In recent months, BlackBerry technology has also been integrated into Samsung’s enterprise mobility suite, Samsung Knox.
