Manufacturer also reveals three more handset launches will follow this year
BlackBerry has revealed the touchscreen BlackBerry Leap handset at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The handset has a five-inch HD display, 8MP camera, 16GB of storage, 2GB RAM and a 2800mAH battery life. It was revealed by Blackberry president of devices and emerging solutions, Ron Louks.
The device will run on the BlackBerry 10 OS and have BlackBerry Blend, which pushes smartphone notifications to a user’s desktop. It will include both the BlackBerry and Amazon App stores.
It will be also available in Europe next month and is priced at $275.
BlackBerry will also launch three other handsets this year. These include what was described as a dual-curved touchscreen device with a sliding keyboard. Louks teasingly revealing a prototype model for a brief moment at the event and BlackBerry took to social media later on calling it the ‘slider’.
The other devices mentioned were another keyboard-based device and a new luxury handset in partnership with car manufacturer Porsche.
