ZTE unveils new seven-inch tablet device in Beijing

Chinese manufacturer ZTE has unveiled its latest touchscreen tablet PC, the ZTE Light.

The ZTE Light operates on the Android 2.1 operating system, has a seven-inch touchscreen and weighs 403g.

The ZTE Light tablet supports voice calling on dual band UMTS 2100 MHZ/900 MHZ and internet access over HSUPA with download speeds up to 7.2Mbps and an upload speed of up to 5.76Mbps. The device has 512MB of RAM and 512MB ROM.

ZTE Light also features GPS navigation, Wi-Fi, a three-megapixel camera, MP4 support, Bluetooth, external SD slot expandable up to 32GB, a 3.5mm stereo headset socket and up to 10 hours of working battery life.

A spokesperson for ZTE said: “It is altogether a more portable, easy-to-use and internet friendly tablet PC, adding a brand new experience to entertainment and internet access.

“With the growing demand of portable and compact devices with mobility features, ZTE Light is surely the next-generation tablet PC, with its compact design and wide range of features it is ideal for all entertainment and business needs.”
