Vodafone ‘gold’ partner Next Communications has credited its move in to fixed line for a 20 per cent uplift in mobile sales

Southampton based Next Communications saw mobile sales increase by 20 per cent year on year for October, a record for the business, which it claims is a direct result of its move in to the fixed line market.

Next Communications merged with fixed line business Test Valley Communications, also of Southampton, in August, bringing the two together under the Next brand.

The deal meant Next could offer both mobile and fixed line for the first time as well as additional services such as installations, systems integration and VoIP.

It’s managing director Mark Finlayson said since it begun selling fixed line it had been winning new business as a result of each product opening the door for a conversations about the other and has proven to be the right move for the company.

Next has also recently been accredited for Vodafone OneNet and has had some “early success” with sales of OneNet Express, which launched last month.

Finlayson said: “We had a record month in October and sales have increased since the merger. Fixed line is going well for us, better than expected and are getting sales for supply of both from customers we wouldn’t have reached before.

“Our fixed line business combined with that of Vodafone OneNet and OneNet Express is providing us with great opportunities.”
