Online business extended into the Spanish and Dutch markets, with hits for the websites exceeding 10,000 views
Birmingham-based accessories retailer Mobile Fun has extended its online business into the Spanish and Dutch markets.
Mobile Fun head of international Richard Moore told Mobile News views of the sites, which launched in August (Spain) and October (Netherlands), have already passed 10,000.
Mobile Fun appointed Vanesa Nunez and Robin Vershuren as its heads of the Spanish and Dutch sites in August. Both women are nationals of the countries in which they operate.
Both sites have been developed to take payments in local currencies. Orders before 5pm are dispatched from the company’s Birmingham warehouse, which stocks over 8,000 accessories, on the same day.
The firm already operates in the UK, Germany and France and claims to receive more than 1.3 million website visits each week.
Moore said international sales currently account for 25 per cent of company turnover, which totalled just over £9 million in 2010. Last year’s turnover was an increase from the figure of £7.2 million posted for 2009.
“Having dedicated websites in another two European countries gives us access to key international and local markets, which in turn serves to further expand our global presence,” Moore said.
“We recognise that our market entry in Spain and the Netherlands may be a gradual process, however we are confident that consumers will react positively, as they have in France and Germany.
“Our new websites will further promote our brand overseas.”
