CHN: Nokia launches Comes With Music service

Nokia has launched its mobile music service, Comes With Music, in China. It’s the first time a device and PC-based free, legal, DRM-free music download service has been introduced into the Chinese market, with the service now availalbe in 30 markets since its launch 18 months ago.

Comes With Music is available to customers who purchase any one of the following eight handsets – X6 16GB and 32GB, 5230, 5330, 5800w, 6700s, E52 and E72i. Entry level prices start from 140 (£122), excluding local taxes and subsidies.

The service will include catalogies from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, EMI Music and a host of local independent labels including Huayi Brothers Media Group and Taihe Rye.

Nokia global head of music Liz Schimel said: “The launch delivers a truly mass market offering from China’s most loved mobile brand. Our brand range of Comes With Music enabled devices and the high quality, DRM-free catalogue form the perfect legal download recipe for the worlds biggest market for mobile phones.
