CHN: Apps market to grow

Following the recent launch of 3G mobile services in China, Neusoft and Nokia Siemens Networks are enhancing their partnership to address the country’s growing mobile applications market.

The two companies will look to transform their existing mobile data joint venture – Nokia Siemens Networks Neusoft Commtech Company Ltd – into a platform for the development, sale and delivery of software and services in the mobile data and applications field.

The two companies will jointly address new and emerging market opportunities ranging from applications, security, service management, business support systems and customer relationship management, bundling their sales, development and delivery resources to strengthen the combined overall competitiveness of Nokia Siemens Networks and Neusoft.

Nokia Siemens Networks  head of Greater China region Zhang Zhiqiang  said: “We see a huge opportunity for 3G applications with 300 million new 3G subscribers emerging in the Chinese market over the next five years. Subscribers are becoming increasingly discerning and are constantly on the look out for new and unique applications. By enhancing our local competence and development capabilities in the mobile application sphere, we are arming ourselves to win in the new 3G world.”

Neusoft chairman Liu Jiren added: “Together with Nokia Siemens Networks, we have delivered a variety of data service systems to the country’s leading mobile players. Now, with the launch of 3G, we are committed to continue to provide our customers with high quality products and services. The enhanced scope of our joint venture will enable us to assure China’s subscribers a truly superior experience.”
