Abzorb renews Vodafone SP contract

B2B telecoms firm Abzorb has signed a five-year extension to its service provider licence with Vodafone, plus an extension to its BT wholesale deal

Service provider Abzorb has renewed its Vodafone licence, with a new five-year contract, and its BT wholesale contract, which runs a further three years.

Abzorb said the Vodafone extension is an endorsement of its Abzorb Plus channel partner programme. It will resell  products such as Vodafone’s OneNet unified communications solution in the channel in the coming months, it said.

Abzorb managing director Mike Walsh (pictured) said: “We believe in the network and the proposition, and it was important for the Abzorb Plus programme to have that contractual longevity.
“Prior to the five-year deal, the service provision licence was on a rolling two-year contract. So we’ve made quite a big step. The commercial framework reflects the progress we’ve made as a business over the past year in particular.”

He added: “Our Abzorb Plus proposition is targeting fixed line reseller businesses. This long-term contract gives us the ability to plan further ahead, and it gives partners stability.”

Abzorb remains confident it will make 22 additions to its Abzorb Plus partner programme before the end of the year to end 2010 with 100 partners.

Walsh said: “The target was to have 100 partners on board before the end of the year and we remain on course to achieve that. We’re now on 78 and I fully expect another 22 to join before the end of the year.”
